300 Posts Giveaway

Wow - in less than 2 years of blogging (at Mummy Adventures) I have reached my 300th published post :-)
Thanks to everyone that's reading this post and especially to regular visitors!
I started this blog as a way of keeping my mind active when I had a newborn baby boy keeping me awake at night. It gave me a reason to create and do things (words, scrapbook pages, crochet projects, baking and photos) so I had something to share with you all.
Since I started back at work part-time shortly before Mr Mischief turned 1 I haven't had as much spare time to blog but I still enjoy visiting this space when I can and sharing some stories.
I'm hoping I will be able to use this blog to document our upcoming move to Wellington.

So to celebrate reaching 300 posts I am hosting a little giveaway. I have been collecting some cute little things over the last few weeks to giveaway to a lucky blog reader.

The giveaway includes a beautiful "hopes & dreams" notebook and "daydream believer" pencil made by the lovely Emma Makes and some chocolate (including a chocolate spoon and some kiwi chocolate coins). If I find anything else cute between now and when I post the parcel there may even be an extra surprise in there for you!

To enter leave me a comment telling me something interesting! (It could be a fact you just learnt, a helpful hint, a book to read, blog to visit etc). Please make sure I have a way of contacting you if you win (i.e, via your own blog or email).

The giveaway will close on Friday 7th September (New Zealand time) and Mr Mischief will pick a winning name from a hat (or other suitable container!) on Saturday 8th.

  1. Because I can't help myself when someone asks for a book suggestion...I cannot more highly recommend "The Fault in Our Stars" by John Green. You *will* need tissues. Here's the blurb:

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

And if you like your books themed around life, it's Daffodil Day in support of the Cancer Society here in New Zealand on Friday.

  2. Hmmm, I'm not very good at random facts on demand...
The UV rating in the Netherlands reached a record level a couple of weeks ago- 8!!! A rating this high only happens about 4 times a century! Just think, in NZ people wouldn't bat an eyelid at a (low) rating like that...

A parenting fact I am learning this week is that I cant choose my kids friends, I have to hope I have taught them enough thus far to no when something is not a good idea!!! Congrads on your 300 posts Katie x

  4. An interesting thing someone told me the other day is that when you look at the sea (lake etc) and see white caps, you know the wind is blowing more than 13 knots. How is that for random :)

Your giveaway looks great - I would love that journal... Lisa x

  6. Congrats on the 300 posts that is an awesome effort!! Something that I have learnt while back in Ireland is that we really miss out in NZ and things are a lot more expensive in NZ as well, a bit of useless info for you, did you notice it as well when you were back in the UK?
